《水墨家園－李小可作品展》

「藝術是從感動開始的，藝術也是生命所經歷的歲月痕跡。當我回顧過去，自己如同是人生旅途的ㄧ個行者，作品就是我這個行者在探索的荒途中所做的『活兒』。」─李小可

李小可，1944年生，成長於北京。

出生藝術世家，自幼喜愛中國畫，70年代開始照顧、協助父親李可染創作、生活、工作，並在父親的指導下開始系統研習中國山水畫。

先後數十次深入西藏、青海、長江源頭、黃河源頭、甘肅等西部藏族地區與黃山、太行山、燕山等地，跋山涉水去實地寫生及攝影創作。意圖在繼承傳統與父親藝術精神的同時，吸取外來藝術營養，尋找符合時代的繪畫表現。

李小可認為，「家園」是我們所處時代和賴以為生的自然，傳統文化同樣是一種「家園」。當人們走入時，它將會帶給人們深深的感動和無限的表現空間。

本次展覽橫跨李小可頗受好評的古都遺韻、雪域藏跡、山水黃山和師法自然四個系列，他將對造化萬象豐富的切身感受納入筆墨結構中，使作品具有強烈生活氣息和鮮明個性風格，觀眾朋友很難不被其強烈的藝術感染力所吸引。12月25日起，讓我們一同探索李小可筆下的「水墨家園」。

《Soulful Homeland of Ink-wash －The Chinese Ink Paintings of Li Xiaoke》

“Art begins with the feeling of being moved, followed by the signs of aging that life encounters. When I look back, I see myself as a traveller in the journey of life, and my paintings represent the work I have been doing while I explore during my journey.” -- Li Xiaoke

Born in 1944, Li Xiaoke grew up in Beijing. As a descendant of an aristocratic family of art, Li had been very fond of Chinese painting since he was young. In the 1970’s, he took care of his father Li Keran, an influential Chinese artist in the 20th century, and assisted him with his paintings and daily life. During this time, Xiaoke also started to systematically learn and study Chinese landscape painting from his father.

Xiaoke has been to China’s western areas, such as Tibet, Qinghai, the headstreams of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River and Gansu, as well as Mount Huang, the Taihang Mountains and the Yan Mountains dozens of times for experience in sketching and photographing. In addition to carrying on traditional Chinese painting along with continuing his father’s spirit, Xiaoke intended to absorb artistic elements from the outside world and seek expressions of painting that were in line with the times.

Li believed that “homeland” is the time and nature in which we live, and the subsequent traditions and culture associated with them are also considered to be our homeland.  When people walk into their homeland, they will be deeply moved by the unlimited expressions of it.

This exhibition, titled “Soulful Homeland of Ink-wash,” includes four series that have earned the artist commendations from the public: “The Imperial City Beijing Illustrated,” “Tibet Impressions,” “The Landscape of Mount Huang” and “Sketches.” Li Xiaoke integrated his personal feelings regarding the richness of creatures and nature into his brushwork and composition and created a strong flavour of life with a distinctive personal style in his paintings. It is hard for viewers to resist the artist’s extremely high artistic appeal. Starting December 25th, let us explore the “Soulful Homeland of Ink-wash” series under the paintbrush of Li Xiaoke.
