艺术简介

Nguyen Trung is one of the most influential and respected artist of Vietnamese contemporary art today. Nguyen Trung is known as the leader of the abstract movement in Vietnam contemporary art and called an abstract expressionist. Nguyen Trung has the great ability to create well-organized texture in his art works, paired with a balance and steadiness in his ideas. Nguyen Trung is also one of the few living Vietnamese artists whose works are regularly sold at international auctions.
Awards:
Nguyen Trung won the silver medal in 1961 in the Spring Art Competition (Saigon) and the gold medal in 1963 in the Spring Art Compettition (Saigon).

International Exhibitions:
Nguyen Trung has staged numerous art exhibitions in Vietnam and abroad and his more recent international exhibitions took place in Singapore (1992, 1995, 2002, 2003), Japan (1996), Korea (1997, 2000, 2007), Italy (1998), France (1990, 1998), USA (1998), Philippines (1996), Taiwan (1999), Hong Kong (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003), The Netherlands (2003) and Thailand (2001).
Nguyen Trung was born in Soc Trang in 1940. He studied in the Gian Dinh academy near Hanoi. Having lived in Paris for several years and in the Cambodia in the late eighties, his abstract Vietnamese Contemporary art, based upon strict European rationalism and placed within an Asian philosophical space, never fails to both intrigue and captivate viewers. Nugyen Trung is an exceptionally intellectual and innovative Vietnamese contemporary artist, and his art usually comes across as strong and purposeful with decisive individuality. He is much appreciated for his spiritual aesthetics, mainly influenced and inspired by Buddhist Khmer culture.
Museum / Private Collections:
Nguyen Trung’s art works can be found in the prestigious collection of the Vietnamese Fine Art Museum, the Singapore Art Museum and the Bassano del Grappa Fine Art Museum (Italy). His work is also sought after by private collectors around the world such as Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, France, USA, Germany, England, Switzerland, Italy, and Canada.
