幾經探索之後,日常影像進入到了何汶玦的油畫創作當中。與以反映日常生活的現實主義手法不同,對於日常影像的描繪,是以他自己的攝影作品為母題的。他堅持以影像入畫,透過鏡頭他記錄了他對日常事物的觀察與思考,並呈現在畫布上。藝術家對畫面的破壞,既是對原有敘事邏輯的解構,又是出於對油畫語言的迷戀。那些被刮刀刮到畫面邊緣的厚堆顏料,記錄了曾經的敘事建構過程,而被刮過後的殘留畫面,則試圖擺脫既定的圖像描述表達邏輯,進入一種圖像之外的油畫語言狀態。
After several explorations, everyday images go into the oil paintings of HE WENJUE. Different from Realism on reflecting everyday life, his subjects are based on his own photographic works. HE WENJUE insists to paint those images which he recorded his observations of everyday life and thinking through his lens, and presented his thoughts on canvas. The deconstructions of images not only reflect his logic of narration, but also his fascination of oil painting as a language. Thick layers of paints scraped to the edge of the work recorded how he constructed the narrative, while these scratched images are meant to get rid of the established ways of expression. The artist is trying to explore the language of oil painting.
