嵌合体·寒武之纪

“喀迈拉”是希腊神话中狮头羊身蛇尾的怪兽，如今更为人熟知的是它的医学概念“嵌合体” ，这种现象普遍存在于我们的肌体生命中，它就像是幽灵一般，隐匿在我们身体的角落。在周杨的作品中，他常常将不同的材质、媒介和艺术风格进行融合，通过碰撞和交织，创造出视觉上富有张力和独特性的作品。嵌合体也代表了周杨对于当代社会多元性和信息过载的审视和思考，以及他对于艺术创新和实验的探索。

“寒武纪”是地质学上指代地球历史上最早的生命时期，它代表了生命的起源和演化过程。在经历了漫长迟缓的演化之后，诸多条件加持之下，这个纪年之中，物种迎来了辉煌的多样性大爆发时期。在周杨的作品中，寒武纪意味着对于时间、历史和进化的思考。通过艺术的手法和表现形式，周杨试图探索人类和自然之间的关系，以及人类在时光长河中的微小和脆弱。寒武纪也象征着周杨对于人类存在的根本问题的思考，以及对于未来生命和文明的展望。

本次展出艺术家周杨近两年的系列新作，在这两个系列作品中，以独立的视觉形式，共同的精神内核，和千丝万缕的联系之下，互为共生。体现了艺术家精神世界的丰富性，及艺术家追求自由之独立精神。

正是如此，同时佐证着艺术家之“嵌合体”，及作品之“寒武纪”的双重特征。

Chimera: Cambrian

"Chimera" is a monster in Greek mythology with a lion head and a goat body and a snake tail, and is now more familiar with its medical concept of "chimera", this phenomenon is universal in our physical life, it is like a ghost, hiding in the corner of our body. In Zhou Yang's works, he often combines different materials, media and artistic styles to create visually intense and unique works through collision and interweaving. Chimera also represents Zhou Yang's examination and reflection on the diversity and information overload of contemporary society, as well as his exploration of artistic innovation and experimentation.

"Cambrian period" refers to the earliest life period in the history of the Earth in geological terms, which represents the origin and evolution of life. After a long and slow evolution, many conditions have supported this period, and species have ushered in a brilliant explosion of diversity. In Zhou Yang's work, the Cambrian period means thinking about time, history and evolution. Through artistic methods and forms of expression, Zhou Yang seeks to explore the relationship between human beings and nature, as well as the small and fragile nature of human beings in the river of time. The Cambrian period also symbolizes Zhou Yang's reflection on the fundamental problems of human existence, as well as his prospects for future life and civilization.

This exhibition of artist Zhou Yang's recent series of new works in the past two years, in these two series of works, with an independent visual form, a common spiritual core, and thousands of connections, symbiosis each other. It embodies the richness of the artist's spiritual world and the independent spirit of the artist's pursuit of freedom.

This is exactly the case, and at the same time proves the artist's "chimera", and the work of the "Cambrian" dual characteristics.
