韩冬恪守古老传统,二十多年来他在几个传统中行走自如,正像萨义德形容的......韩冬喜读书或兴之所至而不求甚解,或观其大要而不拘泥细节; 无论古希腊人和古印度人有多少智慧,都未让我们凡人通晓世间一切事物,更何况还有世间之外、世间之上以及世间之后。渺小如我们者,知其 不可为而为之,仍然固执地怀抱知识的冲动,很多情况下我们只有凭好奇、猜测与想象去等待那些不可预知的启示发生,就像韩冬:每一个概念 都可以成为一幅画,每一次阅读都可能催生灵感,耐心等待,不慌不忙的劳作会凭借其不可见的内在力量,将那个不可知之存在通过一个幻影的场景与物件,美妙地揭示出来。

Wu Liang

Han Dong sticks to the old tradition. He walks among several traditionsin the last twenty more years. As Edward Said would describe, Han Dong lovesreading for his passion, not for understanding. He focuses on the main idearather than constrained by details. No matter how much wisdom ancient Greeksand Egyptians had, it won’t be sufficient for us to understand everything inthe world. Moreover, there are things out of the world, above the world andafter the world. Tiny as we are, knowing what we won’t achieve but still makingthe effort, still possessing the impulsion for knowledge. Under manycircumstances, we can only wait for the unpredictable revelation withcuriosity, guesses and imagination. Such as Han Dong: every concept can be apainting, every reading can bring inspiration. Wait patiently, by the invisiblepower of calm work, it will reveal the unknown existence fabulously through afantasized scene or object.

1958 born in Da Feng of Jiangsu province,China.

1986年 毕业于南京艺术学院工艺美术系

1986 graduated from Dept.of Industrial Art, Nanjing academy of fine arts.
