Bodies with Corners

Janne Kruse is working with movement as a basic situation for sculptural creation in relationship to her own body. She explores the anti space of the body to signify potential shapes. The performative act behind the works is a gesture both of spacious, physical and meditative character.
Writing was from the origin - both in Eastern and Western civilizations - often used for rituals rather than practical use, in order to represent or evocate something, more than to communicate. Janne Kruses work in Aiyo Space is concerning a sculptural practice based in thinking through the body and exploring the gesture in the act of writing as a way to measure movement, space and time.
