前言

        劳伦-马里·朱伯尔先生刚刚结束应邀在湖北美术学院和四川大学美术学院的交流课程。劳伦-马里·朱伯尔先生凭借他优秀的艺术才华为人所知，他游历于世界各地，曾在南非、日本、北美地区等多个国家和地区开展过艺术项目，且作品被法国现代艺术博物馆收藏。其艺术表现形式广泛，不仅有手绘、油画还有装置作品等。
        此次展出的作品是其围绕法国著名的女性民族英雄—圣女贞德的形象创作的一系列作品及手稿，有关这位女性的传奇故事有必要为大家介绍：
        圣女贞德是法国的民族英雄、军事家，天主教的圣女。英法百年战争（1337-1453年）时她带领法国军队对抗英军的入侵，支持法国查理七世加冕，为法国胜利做出贡献。后为勃艮第公国所俘，宗教裁判以异端和女巫罪判处她火刑。
劳伦-马里·朱伯尔先生用他的艺术语言重新塑造了这位英雄人物，他笔下的贞德不仅是位民族英雄，更是一位身材性感的女性。对，它们看起来就像出自法国艺术之手。贞德勇敢、正义、积极的形象给人们能量和勇气，美妙的身姿给人视觉愉悦的美感。
        长期游历于世界各地，使他对历史、民族间的文化融合有更开放的认识和理解。圣女贞德这位形象放在国际语境下解读，不同的文化语系有着不同的理解，而大多数描述都是站在对自己有利的角度去理解。这是文化之间的差异，也是对人类总体认知经验形成过程的局限性的批判和提醒。

Preface

Laurent – Marie Joubert just finished the exchange courseinvited by Hubei Institution of Fine Arts and the academy of fine art of Sichuan University.  Laurent – Marie Joubert is known by his outstanding artistic talent. He travels around the world, developed his art projects in South Africa, Japan, Northern America, and many other countries and territory, and works of projects were collected by French Museum of Modern Art. His artistic form is widespread, not only sketching, but painting and installation, etc.

Works of this exhibition are series around a famous French female hero, Jeanne d’Arc, contains creations and studies. Her legend is as below:

Jeanne d’Arc is a French national hero, strategist,and catholic saint. She led the French army against the invasion of British during British and French war (1337-1453), supported the crowned Charles vii of France, contributed to the French victory. Later, she was arrested by Duchy of Burgundy, which the inquisition sentenced her at the stake of heresy and witchness.

Laurent – Marie Joubert remodeled this shape with his artistic language. His modesty is not only a national hero, also a sexy lady. Yes, they look like works done by the French artist. With the impression of brave, justice and positive, she inspires us. Her beauty pleases us.

Travel around the world for a long time, he has more un-limit understanding of history and different of cultures. Jeanne d’Arc, which is the image in the context of international interpretation, is analyzed differently between different cultures, and most of the descriptions are from self-interests. This is the cultural difference, also criticism and reminders of the limitations for formation of human cognitive experience.
