Litvak Gallery will return to SOFA Chicago in full force this year! Muly Litvak, Orit Ephrat-Moscovitz, Roxanne Present Cohen, Ronen Mechanik and Carole Horwood will all be in attendance in order to present one of our most exciting exhibitions so far. But of course, the main draw is the work of our world class artists who we’re honored to show at SOFA: Peter Bremers, Vaclav Cigler, Richard Jolley, Stepan Pala, Zora Palova, Julius Weiland and Zhaung Xiao Wei.
For the first time at SOFA, Litvak Gallery will highlight the work of talented, young Israeli artists who are all graduates of the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Bezalel instructor Lior Vagima, has provided us with work from his new series that will be shown at the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv this winter. He is a recent recipient of the Andy Bronfman AIDA Award at Corning, and his work will be shown alongside the work of two recent graduates, Hamutal Niv and Elona Kososvski, providing a unique perspective on life and memories in Israel. |

Peter Bremers will join us this year with new work from his Inward Journey series, as well as Icebergs & Paraphernalia, Canyons & Deserts and Transformation. The exhibition includes a number of pieces in outdoor glass. The works are featured in his newest book, An Artist’s Journey, that Peter will debut and sign in the Litvak Gallery booth at SOFA on Friday, November 7 at 4:30 pm. Peter will be in attendance at SOFA and is always more than happy to discuss his work with interested collectors.

Vaclav Cigler has been a partner of Litvak Gallery from the very beginning, and his work continues to amaze us. We’ll be presenting mesmerizing optic glass pieces in a range of sizes, including a free-standing angled column that reflects the universe around it and creates a 4th dimension.

Richard and Tommie Rush will be in attendance to meet and greet collectors and answer any questions you may have regarding his work. On Saturday, November 8 from 3:45 until 5pm, Richard, along with Knoxville Museum of Art Executive Director David Butler, will screen “Richard Jolley: Larger Than Life”, a 30-minute film which documents the six-year gestation of Cycle of Life and its significance for the KMA and the community. Zora Palova will also be in attendance to discuss her new work (and translate for Stepan Pala). Her large cast pieces, inspired by the sea and wind, remind us that the forces of nature that work in tandem to crush and destroy can also lull and pacify.

Julius Weiland has been a trendsetter since we first started representing him, and his reputation precedes him in Europe and Asia as well as the US. The Coburg Prize winning artist, who works with industrial borosilicate glass tubing, embodies the groundbreaking artistic vibe of Berlin.

As you probably already know, Litvak Gallery has been working in China for the past three years, presenting the best art glass to a more than receptive audience. We’re pleased to present to you for the first time at SOFA the work of Zhaung Xiao Wei, one of China’s most respected artists. Xiao Wei is Director of the Glass Studio at the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University, China and his works roam between the worlds of the visible and the invisible, thought and perception, imagination and abstraction. These transgressions are dynamic, not static. The works are the very spirit of the artist as it merges with the material in the process of creation. We’re sure his work would make a fabulous addition to every collection!
