在我看来,没有所谓的真正的“自然”,当然,这里的自然不是指自然界的自然,是老子的哲学观的自然。老子的“自然”是一种理想主义。没有人会摒弃人为的关注而融化成绝对的自然。我不想探讨“道”是什么的问题,因为太繁琐了。自然而然,顺其自然,如果是一种状态的话,有的人是能够做到,或者接近的。但要消化个人使个人变为对象化,只是语言游戏。拿徐龙森的作品来说,宇宙观是通过他这个人来体现的,而他这个人又是那样鲜明和富有张力,外化到他的作品里,充满了徐记特色,所以,很难用古老的哲学观念解释得通。同样,在当代文化里,也有各种各样的观念,其中含有“道法自然”的那种说法,但只是众多说法的一种而已,即使生效果,范围也是有限的。

物以及空间,存在于物体中的空间才是主要的,常规的意识形态中,作品的媒介和输出已然在当下“被看”的很有重要性,我时常认为艺术的本质在于精神的诉求,就如同好的音乐和电影在调动本质问题时,是审美之上的思想和信息一定的对等性。当作品被置身空间、作品本身的空间感同于空间的呼吸行二而合一,在此关乎媒介的一切都将失效地退场,而作品承载东方文脉的传承又将其立足于当代的空间概论。形成空间内核于空间物体的一次碰撞,就像一种不可抗衡的态度,坚定、坚守意如初。
而就创作而言,创作是内在的修行,唯“独”面对内心的独白是自省和前进的力量, 独幅作品的置入带了一切相对危险的尝试,将一切“物”纯粹化,所谓纯粹化的对象不相于形式不相于一切人文附加的认知,而是让“自然”成形,让一些硬生拔地而起带着雄闷的张力,不容焦躁和扭捏,潇洒而严肃,跳出共识在未有庄严感中还原,因为它纯粹而本质、因为它生发自然并自然流淌。

In my point of view, there is no so-called real “nature”. Of course, the nature here is not the nature in the nature world, but is the nature from Lao-tzu’s philosophy. The concept of nature for Lao-tzu is idealism. None will abandon the absolute nature that is focused by many. I do not have the intention of discussing Taoism theories, because they are to complicated. Letting nature takes its course, as a state of mind, is something a few can apply, or at least come close. However, using objectification to make individuals disappear is just playing with words. In Xu Longsen’s work, the concept of universe is revealed by Xu Longsen himself. His works are influenced by his distinctive and intense personality so that they are full of personal characteristics, and are too hard to be defined by old philosophy ideas. Similarly, with a variety of contemporary cultures, the Taoist concept of “Imitation of Nature”is included, but it is just one of the ways others present it. Even if it has some effects, the extent is limited.

In the connection between objects and space, the space that exist in the object is the most important factor. Nowadays, medium and output are recognized as significant means of artworks and space. However,I have always believed that the essential of art is the constant pursuing of the inner world, just like the main issue of a good piece of music or a movie is explained by the ideology that beyond appreciation of the beauty and by the messages that are sent to spectators. When an artwork is placed in a room, the sense of space in the artwork itself and in the place where people stands are globally interacting. At this moment, everything about the medium becomes meaningless, and the artwork of Xu Longsen that inherits patterns from traditional Eastern culture will stand in the space of contemporary conception. The artwork will, therefore, create a collision of the space in the artwork and the space in the scene, with an irresistible attitude, as strong and firm as it was at the very beginning.
In terms of creation, creating an art is an inner sublimation, and facing the voice from bottom of your heart is the“only” way to provide the strength for introspection and improvement. Only one artwork on display brings a risky attempt,and as for me, the necessary of this attempt is to purify all the objects with all my courage. To purify objects is not to pursue modality nor to attach subjective explanations, but to let nature take its course, putting anything abrupt, disturbing or tortuous aside. Because of its pure nature and spontaneous overflows, the pureness will be separated from the consensus and return to the original form with solemnness.
