天大美术馆

　　关良(1900.10-1986.11)广东番禺人。擅长中国画、油画、美术教育。17岁随兄东渡日本，先后入川端研究所师从画家藤岛武二，转入“太平洋画会”师从中村不折先生学习美术。归国后，任教于上海神州女学。1924年以三十余件油画作品参加上海东方艺术研究会第一届画展。相继担任上海师范学校、上海美术专科学校教职，同时为郭沫若主编的《创造》杂志画插图和封面设计。1925年，“东方艺术研究会”改组为上海艺术大学，任教于该校。1926年赴广州任教于广州美术学校、中山大学附中。是年夏参加北伐，担任国民革命军总政治部宣传科艺术股股长。在上海美专任教之余常欣赏京剧艺术，偏爱画戏剧人物，并拜师学戏，增加戏剧人物画创作的生活积累。1937年到昆明任教于国立艺专。1942年在成都举办戏曲人物画展，郭沫若、茅盾等为之题词称赞。后任重庆国立艺专教授。1945年抗日战争胜利回到杭州。曾任上海中国画院画师、浙江美院教授、中国美术家协会理事，美协上海分会副主席。1957年与李可染一起赴德意民主共和国友好访问，莱比锡“伊姆茵采尔”出版公司为他出版画册。“文化大革命”以后，大地回春，在上海举办《关良回顾展》。

　　Born in Fanyu, Guangdong province, Guan Liang studied art in Tokyo from 1917-1922 where he was introduced to Western oil painting technique. After returning home, Guan Liang taught at several prestigious art institutions including the Shanghai School of Fine Arts and the Hangzhou National College of Art. During his first solo exhibition which was held in Chengdu (1940), Guan established himself as a highly talented painter throu distinct portraits. In 1945, Guan and masters: Lin Fengmian, Ding Yanyong, Zhao Wuji, Ni Yide, and Pang Xunqing exhibited together in Chongqing during The Modern Painting exhibition. In 1957, Guan Liang and Li Keran were sent by the Chinese government to The Berlin Academy of Science for an exhibition. A year after his death in 1986, the Shanghai Art Museum held a memorial exhibition and Lecture Series honouring Guan Liang's life and career as a master painter.
