So that she can be bathed in serenity of her own as to sense and express enjoyably what her heart has perceived from outer world. 　　“Buried Mists” is one of Liu Yan’s two representative series for recent years, in which she provides a clue of a poorly-equipped travelling troupe in gloomy rich-colours and, broken touch of the brush so as to produce what she has come to realize from the thought of drama is but a life and life is like a drama. Her paintings have a deep sense of grievance at men having to “play” their roles in reality resignedly. And, “Isolated Garden” is her another series which expresses the once splendid sites where seemingly still has its soul.
