艺术家自述

我希望透过实体存在的玻璃作品表达一种平静感， 回应舒缓我们匆忙的生活步调。 我希望我的作品反映和传达纯然生活在"当下"的每时每刻的心悦。我的绘画经常使用圆圈和梯子为符号，表达生命存在感的总体性、 整体性及其永恒，用其连接物质和精神世界。无论是劳心费力的快速玻璃吹制过程和玻璃灯工烧法、还是缓慢的磨刻和手工砂纸细磨，玻璃材料透过尽善尽美的工艺制作过程，忠实回应艺术家专注创作的每个当下。无论是高温吹玻璃和冷作磨刻玻璃，都无法重来，整个创作过程，要求纯然专注于当下，直到作品完成。无论单件的作品或是大型的装置作品，邀请观众暂放慢忙碌脚步，驻足欣赏每件作品的质感和意象，感受一份平静感，纯然 “在” 那个此时当下。

Artist Statement

Through solid glass forms I aim to carry and express a sense of calmness that builds a strong counterpoint to our rushed lives.  I hope that my work consistently reflects and communicates “being present” in each moment of life. My drawings often use circles and ladders referring to a notion of totality, wholeness and eternity and a connection between the physical and the spiritual world.

The elaborate process of glass blowing and lamp-working, slow lathe-grinding and hand-sanding requests being congruous with the material and process. Every change and mark I make cannot be reversed, demanding complete presence throughout the making process, and being truthful to the moment until the work is completed. In this way both, each individual work and larger installations invite the viewer to contemplate the material itself, the surface and design, while slowing down and gaining a sense of calmness, thus “being” in the presence.
