光绪十六年（1890年）广东省钱局造币厂根据清政府钦定体制，将钱文改錾蟠龙之外，以“广东省造”和库平重量汉文改到正面，广为鼓铸第三版“光绪元宝”，至光绪三十四年，朝廷将货币按三个等级铸造流通，分别是七钱二分（一元）、一钱四分四厘（二角）、七分二厘（一角），主要由天津的造币总厂铸造，北洋、南洋（江南）、湖北、广东是四个分厂，也有铸造，但流通量不大，广东省造光绪元宝库平一钱四分四厘的珍品不易常见。该制形被各省采用，成为定制。

近日有幸征集到一枚广东省造光绪元宝库平一钱四分四厘，该币正面珠圈内镌汉文和满文“光绪元宝”字样，上铸“广东省造”四字，下镌“库平一钱四分四厘”八字，两旁镌花饰。背面蟠龙居中，外圈为英文，并镌有“1”和“4.4”阿拉伯数字，两旁镌小花饰。像光绪元宝“库平一钱四分四厘”面值如此小的珍品，现在市场上已十分罕见，且包浆自然古朴，品相完好，极具收藏价值！

 

虽然年代已久，钱币在日光的照耀下依然能散发出夺目的光彩，正面分为内圈和外圈两部分，内圈是“光绪元宝”四个楷体字，略显斑白，外圈镌刻英文，与国际语言接轨，纹路清晰，版面精致有型，整体观来，给人一种和谐的美感。
