李天元(1965—)黑龙江省双鸭市人。1988年毕业于中央美术学院壁画系。现任职于中央美术学院，讲师。1989年，参加“第七届全国美展”。1991年参加首届“中国油画年展”，作品《冶子》获金奖。1993年，在中国美术馆举办个展“李天元画展”，参加第二届“中国油画年展”。1994年参加在香港大学美术馆举办的“中国当代油画艺术展”。1995年参加在北京举办的“中国当代艺术展”。1996年参加在北京红门画廊举办个展。1997年参加在中国美术馆举办的“中国油画肖像艺术百年展”。1998年参加在巴黎举办的“国际艺术展”。1999年参加在北京举办的“北京艺术文献展”。2002年参加在孟加拉国举办的“亚洲双年展”。2004年参加在日本举办的“中国当代艺术展”。2005年在香港、纽约举办“天元空间站—空气”展。
