It is been a long time of waiting for the Photofairs Shanghai 2018. In the Photofairs Shanghai 2018, the Frogman Art will present a realistic dimension of Art, by the portfolio of Artists Jamie McCartney,Antonio Biagiotti, and Shifra Levyathan, which emerges the deeper strength beneath the images themselves. The exhibition launched yesterday on the 20th, which attracted numerous collectors and amateurs. We are honored to be a part of this elegant appreciation, and we are looking forward to bringing you a special art feast.
Jamie embraces experiment as the driving force behind his creativity, he has created using an adapted document scanner as his camera. Having worked on grass roots environmental campaigns as well as on a peace boat in his youth, a strong socio-political current runs through many of his works. He hopes to change the body image of women through art. His works protest against the pervasive body fascism that sickens our society. Jamie’s exhibition is controversial. But as a piece of art, it fulfils the most basic criteria – a multi-layered experience. It informs, questions, and provokes reactions both emotional and academic. "Art of England" once commented on him: “The world will be talking about Jamie McCartney for a long time to come.”
I wonder if you are, just like Antonio, attracted by the enormous creativity of black and white film. His crispy, clear and infused images with details that the viewers are transported to a whole new world of line and form. Far away, as if it were also close, pure and true, we are eager to find the invisible place. In the seemingly simple picture, we are to understand the symbol and meaning behind the work.
Shifra Levyathan is a Israel unban contemporary photographer. In 2010, it was a turning point for her work, when she was unable to go on long walks with her camera, snapping pictures as she did before. She had to find another way to expressing herself. She uses the solid structure and texture of the city as the content to explore the relationship between human, city and nature. Such as her art work “Floating City” reminds us of Borges’ Alev, which contains everything in the world and floats on the water surface symbolizing the birth of life.
