善美當代藝術畫廊乘著七月的騰騰暑氣，在長安街首都博物館南邊五百米，風和日麗的護城河邊安家立業，為北京的朋友們帶來五位港澳臺青年藝術家的創作預展：《線》。簡單如線，其實可以勾勒出一個意想不到的世界。這種意想不到的奇妙感覺，正是我們畫廊孜孜不倦的追求。

渾元初開，世間最先的直線是什麼？劉學成用他極富詩意的作品《伸延至人間盡處》告訴我們，第一條直線，是天與地與海之間相接之處，如無邊無際，一直伸延至人間盡處。水平線，是人間的永恆。從海天之間走向城市，線還是不可或缺。陳佩玲與英國藝術家在深水埗的舊唐樓單位內和天臺遊走，連續創作二十四小時，捕捉新舊交織的瞬間，重現消失了的蹤影，用太陽光曬出了香港最地道一角的影像，讓感官停留在回憶裡的時間線。在《複眼》裡，鄧國騫告訴我們：在昆蟲眼中，這個世界一直不屬於人類。複眼之內，皆為自然。線，轉化成超現實畫面，為我們說故事。而說故事，當然少不了文字這個載體。中文獨特的象形字體與方塊字，引發了張致中各種奇異幻想，藝術家選取帶有強烈視覺經驗、並且富有引申涵義的成語或俚語，試圖以按圖索驥的精神，玩弄各種不同的視覺符號語彙，拼貼出一個模棱兩可的當代寓言。語文的線，飄渺、無形，漂浮在意念之間。周明誼在《她與她的》一系列人體速寫作品中，盡所能嘗試原子筆的線條效果，搭配壓克力顏料的使用，透過描繪模特兒與周圍空間裡的物品，將兩者之間的親密關係與身處的空間，壓縮在這個彼此交錯的時空之中。一筆一劃，是藝術創作的基線。

一條線，真的可以構造一個世界。


SIGNATURE Fine Arts Gallery established our first gallery in Beijing during this vibrate July 2012, which is located in 500 meters south of Chang’an Avenue. Our exhibition preview LINES exhibits the artworks by five Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan young artists. We believe lines can indeed craft an amazingly unexpected world, this kind of amusement is what our gallery keep looking for.

What is the first line in the world? Hanison LAU uses his poetic work Until the End of The World tell us the first line in the world is Horizon. Horizon is forever. From nature to city, Peggy CHAN and some Hong Kong and British artists were walking and making art inside out a Shum Shui Po old tenement house for 24 hours nonstop. The unique Cyanotype technique in Intertwined shows us the images from the most Hong Kong angles. We can sense time in lines. In Compound Eyes, TANG Kong Hin tells us, in the eyes of insects, this world is not belonged to humans all along. Everything can be natural by seeing with compound eyes. Lines become surrealistic and carry narratives. Word is a very important element in narratives. Based on the particularly unique “pictography” and “square calligraphy” of Chinese characters, CHANG Chih Chung chooses the meaningful idioms and proverbs with strong visual impression to attempt a reconstruction of the ambiguously modern fable out of mind games as well as various montages of diverse visual symbols and icons. The lines of word are subtle, shapeless and floating in concepts. In the series of figure drawings She and Something About Her by Zhou Ming Yi, the artist tries his very best to explore the expressiveness of ball pens. With the use of acrylic paints, the artist sketched not only the model, but also the surrounding space and her belongings into the drawing, which he elaborates the intimate relationship of the model and the surrounding space in a complex of time. Lines are the basics of art.

A line can really construct a world.
