Mirta Morigi ( Italy)
Mirta Morigi (Italy)
Mirta Morigi lives and works in Faenza, the city that with its name has defined a genre and that has given birth to many ceramic masterpieces.
Mirta’s ceramics have always represented a happy synthesis between past and future and her workshop, a crossroad of experiences and a powerhouse of new ideas, is now a European model of new art workshop.
The colours tend to always be very bright and pure, dense, without resorting to mediations or shades. On the other hand, for the sculpture compositions Mirta has taken inspiration from a particular naturalistic menagerie with preference for reptiles and amphibians: lizards, chameleons, geckos, and tree frogs that become bends, true handles, or climb troubled shapes with the pride of prehistoric creatures… Or appear from the edge of a bowl and wink. And, why not, smile… The colours tend to be very bright, pure and dense… And last comes the dragon.
