山东人，1964年生。1985年是毕业西安美术学院油画系。1996年起定居巴黎，从那时起他的心一直记挂着祖国。他的出身和对旧事的回忆是他作品的灵感来源。王刚的绘画世界沐浴在一个无时间性的海洋内，时空的交错在那里印下了妙极的了印记，他的匿名人物们古又今，处于一个迷惘，思乡和特殊的失重状态空间中。
观者与他的作品产生共鸣，在那里人物们希望与观者建立对话，人物脱离迷失在永恒中，突然又重新出现，也唤醒了藏在他记忆深处的旧事。孩子们玩耍时忘形，朋友们跳舞自遣，一些生活的小插曲，还有当我们面对镜子时扪心自问时的情况，这一切是多么的熟悉。
家庭聚会，宾客满堂欢乐晚宴，导致了孤单失落。孤立，飘动，丧失了脸孔的人物们，一片突如其来浓密的云彩，是我们思想隐蔽处和对流逝了的时间的默想的一种隐喻。王刚的画是我们的某种记忆下的反映，那些旧事，人物的面孔和风景都混淆在一起的作品，在这些作品中，模糊的回忆让位了给这特殊的空间，是与梦幻和默想的世界的对质。

WANG Gang
Born in China (Jinan, Shangdong province) in 1964. In 1985, WANG Gang graduated from the Xian Academy of Fine Arts (oil painting department). He settled in Paris in 1996 and never ceases thinking of his native land. His origin and memories are the inspiration of his work.

The universe of WANG gang is a reflection of a formidable anachronism which bathes in a timeless ocean. His anonymous creators, sometimes reflect the last dynasty of Qing, sometimes the contemporary world. They are weightless in a turbid, nostalgic, and singular space.

The spectator enters in resonance with the work where the characters wish to establish a dialogue with him. They move away while being lost in eternity only to re-appear again and awake his hidden memory. These scenes are very familiar to us where the children are at ease playing, or where their friends dazzle themselves dancing, or where in those episodes of daily life we question ourselves when facing the mirror.
A family gathering, a convivial and eventful evening, leads to loneliness. The isolated characters, floating, deprived of faces, and emerging from an opaque cloud, are a metaphor of our most secret thoughts and our meditation over the time. The painting of WANG Gang is the reflection of our selective memories. The faces and the landscapes merge the ones with the others to create a complete work where the confusion of the memories yields a place to the dream.
The disclosure of this singular universe mixes the world of dream and of meditation.
