Yellow A_Ambiguous landscape series
'Ambiguous landscapes' revolve around the idea of ornamentation expanding into endless space and/or void landscapes.
If one imagines an ornament moving towards abstraction, one visualises repetitive motifs dissolving in space. In my drawings, this idea is represented, for instance, in (water)mirroring or shadows, multipliable motifs, generating endlessness...
In images like 'Yellow A', I collage the thin Chinese paper in the way a 'real landscape' seems to be layered for the viewer. I use 'commercially available' coloured papers and imitate a similar colour by applying diluted ink to white paper. I apply real gold leaf on 'roughly structured' paper and imitate the gold speckles that are traditionally features of the finest grades of rice papers...
Gold speckles might be just gold speckles or they could capture the reflection of the sun's rays in a bright turquoise sea or – if you turn the format up side down or do a handstand, they´ll become the sky…
黄色A_模糊的风景画系列
“模糊的风景”系列作品是围绕着扩大至无尽空间和/或空旷风景的装饰这个理念展开的。
如果想象是一种走向抽象的装饰品，人们视像化重复的图案溶解在太空中。在我的图纸上，这一想法的表现，例如，在（水）镜像或阴影里，不断产生的图案，无穷无尽......
在类似“黄色A”的图片中，我按照“真正的风景”在观者眼中似乎展示出层次的方式来拼贴小小的中国纸片。我使用‘商用’彩色纸张，并且通过在在白纸上使用稀释的油墨来模仿类似的色彩。我把纯金箔应用到“粗体结构”纸上并将最优级宣纸上的传统工艺用于仿金斑点。
金斑或许仅仅是金斑，或者，他们可以在平静的海面上捕捉到阳光的反射，亦或，如果你将形式颠倒，还是做一个倒立，他们就会变成天空......
